My interest in Norway began with history. For a long time, I dreamed of studying archaeology there, but in the end I chose Norwegian philology in Poland—and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. During my studies, I discovered Norway from a completely new perspective and fell in love with its literature, language, and way of life, which I had the chance to experience more closely during a six-month stay in Bergen. Since then, I’ve loved sharing my passion for everything Norwegian—through music, books, films, and, above all, by teaching the language. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting lost in a good book.

Daria – methodologist and teacher

I have always enjoyed learning foreign languages. Therefore, when I was faced with an important life decision, which the choice of studies undoubtedly is, I knew that I wanted to learn a new language. The only question was: what? I decided that it is worth thinking about the future, and looking at the job offers at our northern neighbors, I found that learning Norwegian is the best choice. I have to admit that at first I thought the language was exotic and strange, but over time I got to like it, and after a few trips to Norway, I also began to appreciate the beauty of this country: amazing landscapes, peace there, the hospitality of the Norwegians and Norwegian literature. In my work at Trolltunga, I cherish the fact that I can meet wonderful people and share my passion for Norwegian culture with them. I try to spend my free time actively: jogging, going for walks or cycling.

My adventure with Norway began with a chance encounter with a Norwegian family. Thanks to them, I spent my first vacation in Norway and fell in love with the country, and after that… there was no turning back 😉 – Norwegian philology in Poznan, a year at Pasvik Folkehøgskole in the far north of Norway, right by the border with Russia and Finland (the best year of my life!), work at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, at Empik stores in Toruń, Bydgoszcz, and online. Learning foreign languages (Norwegian, English, Spanish) has always brought me a lot of joy. Now I’m trying to pass on this joy to my students. I come from Toruń, but currently, I live in a rural area in Silesia, where I work online at Trolltunga School. I love animals (a dog and five cats), literature (especially Norwegian), and music (particularly classical).

My adventure with the Norwegian language started back in elementary school and continues to this day. After many years of learning and spending vacations in Oslo, I had a year-long exchange in Finnmark, where I lived with a Norwegian family and attended high school there. During the exchange, I had the opportunity to experience various dialects and live in different parts of Norway. I met many people there whom I still keep in touch with today. In Gdańsk, I completed my master’s studies in Medical Biology with a specialization in Molecular-Biochemical Diagnostics. My interests include computer science, laboratory work, computer games, board games, and heavy metal concerts.

I have always been interested in various mythologies of the world, but it was Norse mythology that motivated me to learn Norwegian. This is how my adventure in Scandinavian studies at the University of Gdańsk began. I love northern folklore, foreign languages, volleyball and all animals that exist, especially Irish wolfhounds, because … they are just great! I also like people very much, which is why I decided to work at Trolltunga. I am developing my teaching passion here.

My love for Norway began when as a little girl with flushed face I read scandinavian sagas stolen from my mother. I became fascinated by Scandinavia, its unique history, culture and nature. I think the most important thing about learning Norwegian is to have fun! Access to various multimedia materials means that learning does not have to be only tedious work with a textbook. I am interested in music, geography and literature. In the future I would like to go to Nordkapp!

Hei! Due to my great love for the mountains, I became interested in Norway already in middle school. I was very curious about the culture and language of this country. After graduating from high school, I decided that Norwegian was the field I would like to study, thus combining business with pleasure. Behind me I have been on exchange twice in Oslo, which is already like a second home to me. In teaching Norwegian, I try to adapt the materials to the needs of the student and I am always open to any suggestions regarding the change of methods.

My adventure with Norway began with… music. I listened to Scandinavian folk (heavier sounds too?) and it annoyed me that I didn’t understand what they were singing about. ? However, I decided to study environmental protection and it happened that thanks to that I ended up in the Norwegian Arctic, which I loved with all my heart. After some time, I also finished Norwegian philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. I love snow, cold and hiking in the wilderness. I try to instill a passion for languages and love for my favorite country in my students?

The choice of my studies took place in an unusual way. I watched the movie “Mannen som Elsket Yngve”, from which the only thing I remembered were the landscapes and a very intriguing, melodic language. I ended up studying Scandinavian studies, with Norwegian as my main language. Thanks to them, I understood that being a teacher was never just a part-time job, but above all a hobby! Privately, I give free rein to my creativity by playing text role-playing games, and I also try to meet the norm of at least two books read a month!

My adventure with the Norwegian language 17 years ago. I went to Norway for the first time in 2006, and the proof of that was my love for my husband. Norwegian nature amazed me, as probably everyone else, and the culture and people were very interesting. At the beginning of the Norwegian language, I found it very exotic, but I quickly wanted to go to and find it today. I am currently studying Scandinavian studies at the European University of Fr. Józef Tischner in Krakow. In my free time, I like baking sweets and decorating artistic cakes. And my little exception are books – I buy them addictively, especially cookbooks.

Nauka języków obcych: norweskiego, angielskiego i włoskiego to moja pasja. To kraj wyjątkowy, z niesamowitą przyrodą, ciekawymi obyczajami i językiem. Zawsze chętnie tam wracam.

Heisann! My adventure with Norway began in childhood. First, my parents moved there, and later, I, too, was welcomed by the land of fjords. I fell in love with this country and many things associated with it, including the beautiful nature, the slower pace of life, and the distinct mentality of its people. I completed almost my entire education in Lillehammer, including a year at the Læringssenter language school, Norwegian middle school, and high school. Currently, I’m studying Norwegian philology at SWPS University in Warsaw. I’m here to help you with Norwegian!
