I have always enjoyed learning foreign languages. Therefore, when I was faced with an important life decision, which the choice of studies undoubtedly is, I knew that I wanted to learn a new language. The only question was: what? I decided that it is worth thinking about the future, and looking at the job offers at our northern neighbors, I found that learning Norwegian is the best choice. I have to admit that at first I thought the language was exotic and strange, but over time I got to like it, and after a few trips to Norway, I also began to appreciate the beauty of this country: amazing landscapes, peace there, the hospitality of the Norwegians and Norwegian literature. In my work at Trolltunga, I cherish the fact that I can meet wonderful people and share my passion for Norwegian culture with them. I try to spend my free time actively: jogging, going for walks or cycling.

Before starting my studies in Scandinavian Studies at Gdańsk, I had the opportunity to visit Norway several times and decided that I wanted to build my future in this amazing country. Through my studies and participation in a summer school in Bergen, I had the chance to delve even deeper into Norway and its fascinating culture and language. Now, I enthusiastically share this knowledge with my students. During my classes, I focus primarily on breaking the language barrier and utilizing various Norwegian media such as programs, articles, and podcasts. I also find great joy in creating different materials that instructors and students can use in our school.

Norwegian was the main language during my studies in Scandinavian studies in Gdańsk, which I supplemented with two six-month stays in Tromsø and Oslo. During classes, I use not only several years of experience as a teacher, but above all … as a student! I avoid routine like the plague. I know that the pace of learning is an individual matter. I believe in the principle that there are no stupid questions. When I’m not working, I read compulsively, spend unreasonable money on the theater and bake cheesecakes over and over again.

Hei! I decided to study Norwegian when an injury crossed out the prospect of studying at the Academy of Music. I try to adapt my teaching methods to the needs and expectations of the student. I focus on conversations, breaking barriers and adapting the pace and material to the student. By the way, we also learn a bit about Norway itself, its culture and inhabitants. In my free time I watch English and Norwegian programs, practice the piano or play video games.

My adventure with Norway began with a chance encounter with a Norwegian family. Thanks to them, I spent my first vacation in Norway and fell in love with the country, and after that… there was no turning back 😉 – Norwegian philology in Poznan, a year at Pasvik Folkehøgskole in the far north of Norway, right by the border with Russia and Finland (the best year of my life!), work at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, at Empik stores in Toruń, Bydgoszcz, and online. Learning foreign languages (Norwegian, English, Spanish) has always brought me a lot of joy. Now I’m trying to pass on this joy to my students. I come from Toruń, but currently, I live in a rural area in Silesia, where I work online at Trolltunga School. I love animals (a dog and five cats), literature (especially Norwegian), and music (particularly classical).

My adventure with the Norwegian language started back in elementary school and continues to this day. After many years of learning and spending vacations in Oslo, I had a year-long exchange in Finnmark, where I lived with a Norwegian family and attended high school there. During the exchange, I had the opportunity to experience various dialects and live in different parts of Norway. I met many people there whom I still keep in touch with today. In Gdańsk, I completed my master’s studies in Medical Biology with a specialization in Molecular-Biochemical Diagnostics. My interests include computer science, laboratory work, computer games, board games, and heavy metal concerts.

Learning foreign languages: Norwegian, English and Italian is my passion. During my several-year stay in Norway, I graduated from a Norwegian language school there, passed the Bergenstest and got to know this beautiful country and its inhabitants well. I really like traveling, getting to know other cultures, tastes and customs. During the classes, I try not only to learn the language, but also to provide as much information as possible about everyday life in Norway. It is a unique country, with amazing nature, interesting customs and language. I’m always happy to go back there.

This is how my adventure in Scandinavian studies at the University of Gdańsk began. My love for Norway began when as a little girl with flushed face I read scandinavian sagas stolen from my mother. I became fascinated by Scandinavia, its unique history, culture and nature. I think the most important thing about learning Norwegian is to have fun! Access to various multimedia materials means that learning does not have to be only tedious work with a textbook. I am interested in music, geography and literature. In the future I would like to go to Nordkapp!

Hei! Due to my great love for the mountains, I became interested in Norway already in middle school. I was very curious about the culture and language of this country. After graduating from high school, I decided that Norwegian was the field I would like to study, thus combining business with pleasure. Behind me I have been on exchange twice in Oslo, which is already like a second home to me. In teaching Norwegian, I try to adapt the materials to the needs of the student and I am always open to any suggestions regarding the change of methods.

However, I decided to study environmental protection and it happened that thanks to that I ended up in the Norwegian Arctic, which I loved with all my heart. After some time, I also finished Norwegian philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. I love snow, cold and hiking in the wilderness. I watched the movie “Mannen som Elsket Yngve”, from which the only thing I remembered were the landscapes and a very intriguing, melodic language. I ended up studying Scandinavian studies, with Norwegian as my main language. Thanks to them, I understood that being a teacher was never just a part-time job, but above all a hobby! That’s how I found myself studying Scandinavian studies, where apart from the language, I also learned a lot about Norway, its society, culture and literature. During my studies, I had the pleasure of taking part in an exchange for half a year in Trondheim, where I could improve myself in Norwegian grammar and history of the language. I believe that life is too short to do something we don’t like, so I decided to combine my passion with work, and for this reason I want to share my knowledge and pass it on to my students.

Thanks to a great teacher, I gained confidence in using the language. When a job offer came along, I took it. What I like most about teaching is that I am constantly learning myself! Each student has different questions, which leads to the search and exploration of new information. In addition, I have always been passionate about foreign languages. Therefore, when considering potential fields of study, I did not hesitate too long and decided on the Scandinavian studies in Gdańsk and the Norwegian line, which I consider to be the best I could do. From a random song on Spotify to studying Norwegian philology at the SWPS University in Warsaw – this is how I would describe my path with this language so far. The music of the North was love at first hearing and has accompanied me every day since then. In a way, I owe her mastery of pronunciation, which can sometimes be surprising 🙂 As an artistic soul, when learning a language, I prefer non-standard solutions and systems of associations. Admiring the Norwegian nature was just a nice addition. I currently live in Poland, where I am polishing my language during my studies – after all, you can never learn too much. When teaching Norwegian, I approach the student individually, I select the materials accordingly and, of course, practice is important to me, so we will try to speak Norwegian at the first class.
